Ethics is something often forgotten and rarely practiced in the world of politics. I take a different approach.
At my home, my business and as an a County Legislator, I practice on a daily basis simple and timeless values, morals and ethics that my parents taught me and which I pass on to my children:
-
Always tell the truth;
-
Be fair to others-listen to their point of view;
-
Be respectful of others-even if you disagree;
-
Never take what is not yours;
-
Think of what is best for others-not yourself; and
-
Treat others as you wish to be treated.
I apply these rules every day in my work at the County Legislature. It is the honorable thing to do. It is what taxpayers expect and deserve.
