Legislator Kilmartin Calls for Police Academy Consolidation
As reported in the Post Standard, County Legislator Pat Kilmartin convened a special meeting of the Legislature’s Public Safety Committee and called for City and County officials to finalize the formation of a joint police academy to train local city, town, village and county police officials.  Legislator Kilmartin called for this action more than a year ago and has pursued Syracuse City Police and Onondaga County Sheriff’s officials to form the joint training facility to eliminate duplication, reduce redundant services, consolidate efforts and save hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in police training costs.  Legislator Kilmartin has scheduled a subsequent meeting in September to re-address the issue and encourage action by local police officials.

Independence Party Endorses Pat Kilmartin for Legislator
In July, Onondaga County Legislator Pat Kilmartin was endorsed by the Independence Party for the office of County Legislator for the 11th Legislative District.  Kilmartin, a resident of the Town of Onondaga, is a life long resident of the County, a former prosecutor in Onondaga County, and a small business owner.  Legislator Kilmartin has been endorsed by the Independence Party, the Conservative Party, the Veterans Party and the Republican Party.

In June, the Onondaga County Conservative Party endorsed Pat Kilmartin as its designated candidate for County Legislature for the November elections.  Kilmartin indicated he was “honored to receive the endorsement” in addition to his endorsement by the Republican Party.  Kilmartin is an attorney and partner in a family business located in Onondaga County.   

Veterans Party Endorses Kilmartin for Legislature
The Veterans Party of Onondaga County this June endorsed County Legislator Pat Kilmartin as its designated candidate for the office of County Legislator.  The Veterans Party endorsed Kilmartin after its lengthy interview process of all candidates.  Legislator Kilmartin represents the Town of Onondaga and the Town of Camillus at the Legislature and is seeking a two year term at the Legislature.

In May, the Onondaga County Republican Committee voted unanimously to endorse Pat Kilmartin for the office of County Legislator for the 11th Legislative District.  Kilmartin, who has served in the County Legislature for four years is Chair of the Legislature’s Public Safety Committee and a member of the Ways and Means Committee.  Kilmartin, a life long resident of Onondaga County, resides in the Town of Onondaga with his wife and four children.
